Each lesson is 2 hours long. MN law requires a minimum of 6 hours of training if you are attempting to get your license before you turn 18-years-old. Adults who have failed the road test 4 times need a minimum of 6 hours of training (Minnesota Statutes, section 171.04, subdivision 1). Adults who have not failed 4 times can choose the number of lessons that satisfy their specific needs. Some need one lesson as a general overview and to learn parallel parking. Others need 12-15 lessons because they have never driven before and they have no one to help them practice between lessons. We are here to help with what you need.
Yes. The instructor will ask to see your permit at the beginning of each lesson. For students under 18 years old, we require 20 hours of practice with a licensed driver before taking lessons.

You will need 2 forms of identification in order to apply for your permit or license. The most common primary form of identification is a certified copy of your birth certificate. If you can't find your birth certificate, first check the list of acceptable options for primary and secondary forms of identification HERE. If you have one of the other primary forms of identification, you can use that document instead. Otherwise, you can order a new birth certificate. If you were born in the United States, go to the official government website of the state in which you were born. Make sure the website is the official "vital records" department and locate the section to order your birth certificate. Fill out the application for a "certified copy" of your birth certificate. If you are a US citizen born outside of the United States then you can contact the US Embassy or Consulate in the country in which you were born. If you were born outside of the United States and do not have one of the alternative "primary forms of identification" then you can contact the country in which you were born. Go to that country's official website first.
I have good news for you. It might make you happy. I passed my driver test today. I was having a feeling that I needed more practice and would pass in June but I took the test today instead and PASSED!
